EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT - CURT ALBERS

This month we are featuring the employee spotlight on our Multimedia Director at Midnet.

Meet: Curt Albers

As a visual communications graduate, Curt has broadened his skills to all facets of interactive design. Videography, 2D animation, pre- and post-production, and creative editing are his trademarks. He founded and is president of two 501c3 Non-Profits; Harmony for Ohio Foundation and Minster Youth Basketball Organization. Curt also spends his "free" time serving as a Village Council Member, a Varsity Assistant Basketball Coach, and Board Member of the Minster Oktoberfest

We asked Curt to answer a few questions that we feel really helps you to get to know him!

1.) How long have you been working at Midnet?

14+ years

2.) What is your position at Midnet and what do you like about the position?

Multimedia Director - What I like most about the position and working at Midnet in general, is getting to do something new everyday, creating something that wasn’t there the day before, for a multitude of different types of clients. One day I might be shooting video for a burlap manufacturer, the next day creating intro animations for a hospital touch screen, then the next day deploying content on a website for an e-commerce hunting website.

3.) What do you like to do when you aren’t working?

Being involved in my community. Have that be coaching local kids the game of basketball, attending meetings to help decide how to best improve something in our village as a council member, or meeting up with fellow board members to discuss the upcoming Minster Oktoberfest.

4.) If you could travel anywhere in the world where you go?

Wherever my kids are playing sports; Ft. Wayne, Indian Lake, Indianapolis, Greenville, Atlanta, Lima, or Las Vegas. Having the opportunity to talk with them to and from those gyms, getting to know them and shape them as humans… win or lose.

5.) What three items would you take with you if you were shipwrecked on a deserted island where all your food and water needs were taken care of?  The three things I would take with me are:

1.) My wife, so she can enjoy the island beach with me

2.) Canopy for shade

3.) and whatever turns that water into alcohol

6.) If you could choose one song to play every time you walked into a room the rest of your life, what song would you choose and why?

Tupac - Can’t C Me

My nickname in high school was "C"...this album was released while I was in school, when gas was cheap enough to just drive around and be kids, listening to music. In college, my friends and I revived a childhood backyard tennis/baseball tournament called the Clune Classic Strikeout Tournament, and this song was my intro song every time I stepped to the plate. It gave a nod to the fact that everyone was watching and thinking they could match me…but now I am enshrined in the Clune Classic Strikeout Tournament Hall of Fame. #ThugLife
